Credit Repair, Debt Settlement, Consumer Credit Counseling:
What's the difference?
Credit Repair involves the removal from your credit
report of things that cannot be proven belong to you, raising your
credit score. These things include inaccurate, unverifiable information
that drops your score. This covers an incredible range of items, check
out the reply samples page or our YouTube site. Credit Score is the priority.
Debt Settlement and Negotiation involves paying off items to your creditors at a reduced, negotiated rate with money provided by
you for that purpose. Paying the debts is the priority. With CCFG's program, your credit score rebounds quickly, months not years.
Consumer Credit Counseling has a priority of paying the debts, not
necessarily at a reduced rate, this means that those collections that
have multiplied several times over the original debt cost you way more
than they should. Your credit score will rebound 7 years after the program is finished. Counseling programs show up on your report as "in credit counseling" or something to that effect. This is damaging to your credit score, as it shows irresponsible debt management.

Debt Consolidation Loans
Back when they were easier to get, these loans, along with home equity loans were quite popular. These days, however, lenders are a bit reluctant to loan you money to pay off your debts to others, with a basically unsecured loan to you. After all, you couldn't pay off those "other guys", "why should we think that you can pay us off?" Debt consolidation loans require pretty strong credit these days, if they can be found. Home equity loans are still out there, but then you have a situation of home value vs. the amount of your current mortgage. Either way, you are replacing loans with loans, they may be a bit better interest rate, but you must be careful about the spending in the future.
Have $10k in Credit Card Debt? Settle It Now!
We have all heard the advertisements, and wondered, "is that for me" The basics of debt settlement and negotiation programs are the same: If You have a certain amount of unsecured debt, you may be eligible for these programs, depending on your State of residence and personal circumstances. These are highly regulated programs, both by Federal and State Statutes.
First, we cover the basics, for CCFG's enhanced program, a truly better alternative read to the bottom of the page...
These programs work with unsecured debt: Most credit cards, auto repossession balance due, cash loans, medical bills, balances due on foreclosure, and short sales, pay day cash advances, quick loans, and some other types of accounts where there is no collateral.
Current Auto Loans, Mortgages, Rent to Own programs will not work, because the lender will simply take back the collateral. If a foreclosure or repo has resulted in a charge off and collection, the collection account can be included in CCFG's Debt Settlement Programs!
These programs are a great alternative to Bankruptcy, especially a brutal Chapter 13. These programs are typically better than Consumer Credit Counseling, where paying the full balance, not negotiating in your favor, is a priority. CCFG Debt Settlement Negotiation and Consolodation is far better than ignoring the problem totally.
These are all essentially savings plans, you pay a monthly fee into a dedicated account, and as your available balance hits a target point, they negotiate and settle with your creditors one by one, with the saved money you made available for this purpose.
If you have old debts that are haunting you, these programs can be great. You really can settle these for pennies on the dollar.
If you enter current credit card accounts into these programs, these accounts will go from whatever their status is now, to late payments, to charge off, to collection. If you are already in trouble with the lender, or the fees have made the problem so bad that there is no way to pay them off short of winning the lottery, these programs can be an attractive alternative. If your accounts are already in charge off or collection, your score will not get any worse, in fact it will improve as your DTI ratio lowers and CCFG clears your credit history for free.
Any Accounts that were paid via these programs should show something like "legally paid for less than full balance" on your credit report. They will, however be paid, and they cannot re-report as a new collection on your credit reports. As more accounts are paid, and cleared from your reports, your credit score will increase as your debt load drops.
Paying off your debts via programs like these prevents future liens, judgments and garnishments, once the debts are negotiated to a settlement.
We see a lot of clients who had been through programs like this, and it is common for your creditors to not report these accounts correctly. Assuming these accounts report correctly, your Credit Score will slowly rebound after these accounts go away, typically in about 4 to 6 years. CCFG's program can accelerate that greatly with our credit restoration combo!
